An adorable feather duster budgerigar with a fluffy white mop of feathers - which means it only has a few months to live.

Eight-month-old Didi was born with the condition which gives the birds the abnormally long feathers making them resemble a feather duster.

Tragically, the birds often die within a year of being born because the feathers do not interlock and join like those on a healthy bird. Didi will now only survive for a few more months at the longest.

Owner Mizi A Rahim in Penang, Malaysia, said: ''Didi's a lovely little bird and it's sad that he has this condition. There's nothing anybody can do unfortunately.''
