Inwood Rd. 3rd Alarm (Woodbridge, CT) 1/5/18

WOODBRIDGE, CT - At approximately 5:15pm on January 5, 2018, the Woodbridge Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 7 Inwood Road for a garage fire. First units on scene found a working fire in the garage that quickly spread throughout the large home due to the extremely high winds. Further making firefighting operations difficult was the bitter cold temperature hanging out around -13 degrees, deep snow on the property, and the location being in a non-hydrant area. All of these factors brought the fire to a 3rd alarm. It was reported that the family was home at the time of the blaze, but luckily all escaped without injury. Three firefighters were reported to have been transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
