A young man surprised his girlfriend by asking her to school prom dressed up as an Easter bunny.

The footage, captured on April 4, shows the woman taking a picture with a man in a rabbit costume.

The "Easter bunny" gives her what appears to be an Easter egg that she later unwraps to find a paper inside with a message on it: "PROM?"

After reading the note she turns around and sees her boyfriend - who had taken off the costume mask.

She can’t contain her excitement and they both get together in an emotional hug.

The woman later wrote online: ''I had been hinting a prom proposal to my boyfriend, and he’d keep telling me he wasn’t going to do one.

''When I saw the Easter bunny on my lunch shift, I had no idea it was him.

"It was the best surprise ever.''
