Beekeeper Saves Bee Hives from Flooding River Trent

Beehives in danger of being destroyed by flooding from the river Trent. I took the opertunity to make a visit to my beehives for the first spring beehive inspection of the year and to my surprise the path to my beehives was about 5 to 6 inches under water. I decided to fly my drone over to the hives and get an aerial land inspection, when the drone reached the hives which was in very strong winds I could see that the hives would be under water by the next day.
A quick chat to the farmer and help from a more robust vehicle we sorted a time to collect the hives and move them to higher ground. Later that evening we made how way to the almost flooded hives, we had touch light and lights from the truck to see how way through the dark.

All the hives have now been moved to higher ground and are all safe and sound.
