Spring's best meteor shower captured over Worcestershire

Buy video

Beautiful time-lapse footage shows shooting stars at the peak of the Eta Aquarids meteor shower in the night skies of Worcestershire in England's West Midlands earlier this week.

The meteor shower is so called because the meteors appear to radiate outwards from the star Eta Aquarii in the constellation Aquarius and originate from the debris of Halley's Comet.

The shower traditionally falls yearly in late April or early May and is reportedly best enjoyed lying flat and looking straight up into the sky.

This footage was captured at St Barbara's Church in Bredon Hill on May 6.
