This teenager found herself riding alongside an unlikely passenger – a wild pigeon.

Wilawan Butkosa, 16, was riding home in Sakon Nakhon, Thailand, when the grey bird from nearby jungle appeared alongside her motorbike.

She whipped out her phone and filmed herself as the bird ''raced'' her for more than five minutes down the rural road.

Wilawan eventually reached her village and slowed down before the pigeon swooped off above her head into the sky.

She said: ''I couldn't believe it when the bird starting flying next to me.

"It stayed for such a long time. This had never happened before. I thought it was amazing.''
