Pro-Turkey demonstrators waved Turkish flags and chanted at others protesting against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan outside the entrance to Downing Street in central London on Tuesday May 15, 2018, ahead of his meeting with Prime Minister Theresa May later that day.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday accused Israel of state terror and genocide after Israeli forces killed at least 55 Palestinians on the Gaza border.

However, Kurdish protesters turned out to demonstrate against Erdogan's visit to the UK because of his aggressive repression of Kurdish people and organisations in south-eastern Turkey.

One of the Turkish demonstrators is interviewed and discussed the difficult relations with Kurdish people in Turkey: "There are some Kurdish extremists like PKK and YPG, which is Syrian, they are all the same, they are terrorists groups."

The man also replied to claims that Kurdish people in Turkey feel discriminated for their language and culture, claiming: "...the government, which is led by Tayyip Erdogan, gave them freedom. Now they can speak their own language all across Turkey, they can sing in their own language and they have their own TV channel."
