++CLIENTS PLEASE NOTE: THIS VIDEO HAS BEEN EDITED++ Fashion designer Kate Spade was found dead in an apparent suicide in her New York City apartment on Tuesday, June 5.

According to one news source, police responded to a call at around 10 am after Spade was found by her housekeeper. A suicide note was found at the scene.

The designer, who founded the fashion brand with her husband, was 55.

"Our thoughts are with her family at this incredibly heartbreaking time. We honour all the beauty she brought into this world," the company said in a tweet.

Her body can be seen being removed from her apartment in this footage filmed by a passerby.

“Kate Spade, a fashion designer known for her sleek handbags, was found dead in her Park Avenue apartment Tuesday in an apparent suicide, police said. She was 55,” The Associated Press reported.
