Australian fan performs ‘shoey’ from moon boot after Australia draw with Denmark

This Australian fan performed a “shoey” – pouring a beer into a shoe and drinking it – after Australia drew with Denmark in the World Cup.

In footage filmed after the match in Samara on Thursday, the unknown man takes off his moon boot – used for foot injuries – and deposits a beer into it before sipping it out of the open foot-hole.

The crowd of brightly-coloured Australians cheer him on.

The 1-1 draw with group C hopefuls Denmark came after Mile Jedinak cancelled out Christian Ericsson’s first-half goal and kept Australia in the race to make it past the group stages of the tournament in Russia.

But outside of the stadium, footage posted on social media showed Australian supporters clashing with security amid their raucous celebrations.
