Time lapse shows plumes of smoke above Spring Fire in southern Colorado
The Spring Fire in southern Colorado continued to grow on July 4, burning more than 94,000 acres and forcing mass evacuations.
This time lapse shared to Facebook by Fort Garland resident LeLand Hermit shows plumes of smoke rising up from the fire. The video was filmed at around 6:30 pm that day.
Since the fire, now one of the largest in state history, broke out on June 27, it has destroyed more than 100 homes and caused road closures in affected areas. Jesper Joergensen, 52, has been arrested for starting the fire when cooking on a fire pit, according to local media.
