Buildings on fire after gas line explodes in Madison, Wisconsin

A gas line explosion in the Sun Prairie suburb of Madison, Wisconsin set several buildings on fire on July 11.

The incident was reported just after 7 pm when witnesses reported seeing smoke near Main Street and Bristol Street. Residents told local media that houses shook from the impact of the explosion, and that they heard the blast from miles away. Households within a five-block radius of the site were evacuated.

This video, taken by Sun Prairie resident Amber Turner, shows the scene.

Barr House, a local bar, was engulfed by the flames, with other buildings also set on fire.

There have been no reports of injuries as of 8 pm local time.
