This huge King Cobra was caught in a duck coop after swallowing three eggs.

The 8ft long serpent was hears scratching around in the wooden structure in the early hours of Monday (16/07) morning.

Luckily, the resident ducks had fled after catching sight of the serpent but had left the eggs in the wooden structure.

Buddhist monks called rescuers after seeing the cobra slithering around in the duck coop in the grounds of their temple in Chachoengsao, Thailand.

Head monk Phra Khantom said: ''The snake had already swallowed the eggs so there was nothing we could do to save the unborn ducks.

''We will put more protection around the duck house to try to prevent this happening in the future. There is a canal next to the wooden hut and we think the cobra came from there.''

The snake was put inside a canvas bag and driven away to be released back into the wild - with its egg supper still inside its belly.
