Fast-moving wildfire scorches 45,000 acres in northern Oregon

A new fire broke out in northern Oregon on July 18, affecting the cities of Moro, Grass Valley and Wasco as the blaze burned almost 50,000 acres of land.

The Substation wildfire erupted at about 3 pm that afternoon near Highway 197, spreading quickly as it damaged at least one structure and forced mass evacuations in the area. About 120 firefighters arrived at the scene to tackle the blaze.

One casualty has been reported so far.
