Bungling Toronto football fans set fire to own banner at match
This is the moment Toronto FC fans launched a flare at a football match that caused their own banner to erupt in flames.
Footage captured on July 18 during the Canadian Soccer Championship semi-final tie with Ottowa Fury FC shows the Toronto fans lighting flares and throwing them on the pitch at the 71st minute.
After a security guard retrieves the flare from the pitch, there is a small explosion – reportedly from a concussion grenade.
The fans also appear to have set their own banners on fire.
"The soccer players on the pitch keep playing the entire time," the filmer adds.
