A strong typhoon and severe flooding hit Bataan, a Philippine province west of Manila, over the weekend.

This video taken on July 22 shows locals using a rope to walk across a street that has turned into a raging flood river.

Typhoon Josie battered the Philippines over the weekend, causing widespread rains, flooding and landslides as many provinces declared a state of emergency. Winds reached up to 65 kilometres per hour, local media reported.

At least five people were killed in the storm and hundreds of thousands displaced.
