Tourists in a popular Greek vacation spot watch smoke rise high into the sky as wildfires rage high above the region of Attica.

Footage filmed on Monday (July 22) in Nea Makri shows large amounts of smoke billowing above apartment blocks.

The fires in the region, which contains the capital of Athens, have wreaked havoc and up to 60 people thought to have died.

The filmer, Kat Mukruris, writes: "The fire reached close to us and smoke and flames could be seen.

"This fire headed for Mati which is about 7km from us and burned the entire vacation spot."
