Bush fire at Harrison Park, Wallasey
I was on the way back home from my birthday meal and saw smoke in the park. The fire brigade had just arrived. We stood a safe distance away along with others. This was the first day of grass fires at the park. As the weather was baking hot and the grass bleached tinder dry throughout the park unsurprisingly the fires continued for a few days spreading to the golf course and by the railway track. The smoke could be seen for miles.
