Residents and tourists wait on the beach of Gili Trawangan, Indonesia, after a 6.9 magnitude earthquake killed scores and left hundreds injured.

Footage shows people awaiting evacuation from the popular tourist island on Monday (August 6).

The tremor, just off the north coast of the island of Lombok, killed at least 91 people and left more than 200 injured.

An estimated 20,000 people are thought to have been displaced, according to the Indonesian government.

Video was taken on Monday 6th of August, 2018 by diving instructor Jennifer Henderson, and shows the destruction of the local community and buildings in the island of Gili Trawangan. The magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck the coast of Lombok in the evening, and left 200 people with serious injuries, and destroyed thousands of homes and buildings and 20,000 people are in temporary shelters. This footage shows the aftermath of the incident and the damage done to buildings in the area.
