Riots broke out at the National University of Colombia on August 15, the violent demonstration staged in protest of the country's president Ivan Duque.

In the video, rioters can be seen throwing explosive devices as police countered with water jets and tear gas in an attempt to disperse perpetrators.

Representatives of the university issued statements expressing their rejection of the violence that morning.

According to local media, the riots were organised by Movimiento Bolivariano, a youth sector of the country's Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), to protest the government under president Ivan Duque.
