Fire breaks out in Southern California county

A brush fire erupted outside of Murrieta, Riverside County, on Sunday, August 19, prompting road diversions as the blaze burned close to a nearby freeway.

According t local media, the fire was reported at around 3:50 pm near Interstate 215 and Scott Road. 90 firefighters and 13 engines responded to the scene.

Fire officials said one firefighter was injured in the blaze and was transported to a nearby hospital for a non-life threatening injury.

The fire was 9.5 acres large and 30 percent contained by the evening.
