Police have detained a 28-year-old man who allegedly pushed a woman in front of a train in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon (August 19).

Footage shows the woman sitting on the rail tracks moments after she was hit by the train.

The filmer writes: ‘’It was quiet with only 14 people on the platforms going north and southbound.

Then out of nowhere this little girl was screaming clutching a man while the man was hovering her over the rail tracks.’

"The train didn’t have time to stop. The girl got hit [on the] upper body first then under the train and got dragged a good distance.

"We sat there for 10 minutes with no sign of police at any post to even prevent this from happening and the girl began to crawl up from under the Marta train with a mangled face and legs dazed."
