This dog loves to flex his vocal chords too when his owner sings.

The video, filmed in Orange County on August 21, shows Charlie the dog howling as his owner practices an opera drill. He takes a while to get warmed up, but is not shy about singing along.

Sarah Lonsert discovered her dog's love for the art some time ago when she was practicing for a vocal competition. She was rehearsing a high note with her pianist when they heard a strange sound, and turned around to see that it was Charlie howling.

"Of course this is adorable and hilarious but, when one wants to be productive, it’s rather distracting," Lonsert said.

During a recent practice, she forgot to keep Charlie somewhere else, and he started singing along.

"I laughed and so did my mother," Lonsert said. "And then she had a great idea to take a short video of Charlie singing opera with me."

Awhile back, I was practicing with my pianist for an upcoming vocal competition I was set to compete in up in Redlands. It was a classical competition and I was having the rehearsal in my living room. I went up to hit the high C that was at the end of the aria and as I was holding it, both myself and the pianist heard a strange sound. As I finished the note, we both looked around to see where the sound was coming from and we discovered that Charlie, my dog, was howling at the top of his lungs. He was “singing” along. Ever since that day, I have always had to put Charlie upstairs or in someone’s room if I decided to practice at home, otherwise Charlie would howl/sing along with me whenever I practiced opera. Of course this is adorable and hilarious but, when one wants to be productive, it’s rather distracting.
Well, about two weeks ago, I was practicing for an upcoming audition and had forgotten to take care of Charlie. So, of course, when I hit the higher notes, he began to howl/sing along. I laughed and so did my mother and then she had a great idea to take a short video of Charlie singing opera with me.
