An amusing video has emerged of man pouring a margarita cocktail using a homemade Rube Goldberg machine.

David Kalb from Huntington Beach, CA, USA can be seen preparing the materials to build his elaborate contraption, before testing it out in his garden.

In the footage, captured earlier this month, David then putts a golf ball onto a wooden plank to start a chain reaction of events which results in a pre-mixed cocktail being poured into a glass.

A Rube Goldberg machine is a device that is deliberately over-engineered to perform a very simple task, named after American cartoonist and inventor Rube Goldberg.
