This kind-heared homeless disabled man helps to direct traffic at a busy junction for free - so the authorities allow him to sleep in the area.

The 32-year-old - known only by his first name Iking - only has one leg and needs crutches but has been combatting traffic at an intersection in Paco, Manila City, the Philippines, for over two years.

He lives at a trolley along the same road where he helps manage the traffic flow during rush hour in the morning and again in the afternoon.

Motorist Rizza Sapico filmed the ''local hero'' helping to direct vehicles on September 26. She also gave him 100 Pesos (1.40GBP) as a tip for his efforts.

Rizza said: "Iking does traffic for free so that the city enforcers will not make them leave. He is a great guy who had a bit of bad luck, I wish he could find a better opportunity despite being disabled. He's a real local hero and everybody appreciates him.''
