These two Florida locals had a close shave when a massive tree branch a few feet ahead of them collapsed during Hurricane Michael.

The strongest storm to hit the Florida Panhandle, Michael made landfall near Mexico Beach as a Category 4 hurricane on Wednesday, October 10.

More than 311,000 homes and businesses in Florida, Georgia and Alabama are without power, and one death has been reported. Wind speeds were recorded as high as 155 mp, causing "potentially catastrophic" destruction along the coastline.

The video, filmed in Tallahassee, shows a tree branch falling to the ground as a result of the hurricane-force winds.

"Our neighbor told us that he had walked down the road and he saw that our road was blocked. We went to investigate, while recording the damage and debris and recorded this," the filmer said. "Had we left 10 seconds earlier, we would’ve been crushed by it."

Michael was downgraded to a category 2 storm on Wednesday night with maximum wind speeds of 10 mph, and is moving southeast towards Georgia.
