This chicken egg was dissected at around 18 days after laying. The chick embyo can move and respond. You can also see the blood vessels formed along the periphery of the egg. The blood vessels are usually formed in the yolk to sypply the developing chick with vital nutrients. You can also see the decrease in egg yolk suggesting the fact that the chick is nearing to hatching.
At this stage, the organs are not fully developed so there's less chance of the chick embryo survival.
