Selly Oak, May 2018 - Bournbrook stream becomes huge fast-flowing river!
In May this year (2018), Selly Oak in the West Midlands experienced extreme weather conditions in the form of heavy rain and flooding - which happened across the popular student area. I was walking from the University of Birmingham campus, where I am a student, and was shocked to see that the Bournbrook stream that runs alongside Bristol road next to the south side of campus had filled right to the brim and was moving incredibly (dangerously) fast!
