Station staff blocked off the entrance to the Port Authority Bus Terminal on the evening of November 15 due to severe overcrowding.

Five inches of snow was dumped on New York City, surprising commuters who were told in forecasts that they would be expecting only half an inch of snow.

Officials closed the doors to the terminal at around 5:15 pm, and commuters were advised to seek alternative forms of transportation.

The Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City was overrun with commuters due to a November’s snowstorm that exceeded what forecasters had predicted. This was taken on the fourth floor, while the seconds and third floors were closed due to overcrowding. Busses had difficulty getting into the Port Authority, causing the throngs of commuters to wait.
