An unusual video has emerged of a woodpecker pecking through the side of a house in Warsaw, Poland.

In the footage, captured by a local resident on Tuesday, the bird can be seen boring a large hole through the wall and discarding unwanted materials on the ground below.

According to Dr Andrzej Kruszewicz, ornithologist and director of the Warsaw Zoo, getting rid of the pesky visitor will be tricky because it is a protected species.

However, he told a local news website, that placing an artificial crow or even a teddy bear near the nest should be enough to worry the bird into changing locations.
