Giant inflatable Santa drifts onto road causing traffic chaos
A giant inflatable Santa Claus drifts onto a road in the East of England, causing havoc for motorists.
The inflatable Santa drifted onto Cromwell Road in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, disrupting travel and causing lines of traffic in the area. The Christmas icon flaps haplessly in the wind as cars grind to a halt.
"Partially blocked and slow traffic due to a large inflatable Santa on road on B198 Cromwell Road both ways in Wisbech," read an AA traffic alert.
Filmer Muhammad Fareed believes Santa made a break for it from the garden of a nearby house. "I think it came from someone’s house," he said, adding that Cromwell Road was residential in parts.
"I was just travelling to Wisbech and suddenly this Santa fell in [the] road and the road was blocked," he said, adding that there was "heavy traffic" in the area afterwards.
