A two-alarm fire broke out at a historical townhouse on the Upper East Side on Sunday night, injuring three people.

According to local authorities, at least two firefighters and three other people were transported to Lenox Hill medical center all with minor injuries.

The building is home to the office for Serbia’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

Officials at the scene said the fire is not deemed to be suspicious.

Heavy fire out of the windows was reported at 8:50pm at 854 5th Ave near Central Park, upper East side, Manhattan.
Upon arrival fdny immidiately declared it 2 alarm. A family is stuck on the roof, first responders are working to rescue them. Multiple units arrived on the scene, police has declared Level One Mobilization for large crowd control.
Landmarked Upper East Side mansion was owned by former Yugoslavia as the office for Serbia’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, this historic Beaux Art building designed by the same architects as the Grand Central Station. It is currently on sale for 50 million, with open house held earlier today.
