Flights have reportedly been suspended at Birmingham Airport due to an air traffic control fault.

Video from one passenger on an Iberia IB 3635 Birmingham to Madrid flight shows passengers preparing to disembark.

The plane was due to depart at 18:05 local time but passengers were still inside the plane and on the tarmac at 20:40, a delay of more than two-and-a-half hours.

However, Bob Norman told Newsflare from on the tarmac inside of the plane that the passengers were now preparing for take-off once again.

"Everyone was told to disembark but then we were told to sit down again," Norman said.

He told Newsflare that airline staff had said a "power cut" was to blame.
