Leeds fans make controversial chant: "Jimmy Savile! He's one of our own!"
Leeds fans in the away concourse at Ewood Park in Blackburn were filmed making a controversial chant involving disgraced broadcaster Jimmy Savile.
One of the fans had turned up to the game dressed as the deceased criminal, while the fans sang at him "He's one of our own, he's one of our own, Jimmy Savile, he's one of our own!"
The filmer described the reasoning as: "Leeds fans sang the song in retaliation to the repeated mocking from other fans.
It's commonplace for fans to sing at the Leeds fans "Jimmy Savile, he's one of your own". So the fans in these case were attempting to sing ironically, in a 'you're not offending us' kind of way."
