Meghan and Harry were out and about in Birkenhead today (January 14) for their first royal engagement of 2019.

In the video, Meghan can be seen taking one of the school children over to meet Harry after she had waited in line to catch a glimpse of the royal pair.

“I took the opportunity to go down and meet them as I live nearby. Everyone in the crowd was delighted with how long they spent greeting people, and I heard plenty of people saying how Meghan is ‘even more stunning in person’,” said Beth the filmer.

“Meghan seemed worried about the children and kept saying that they should all go and get warm and have a hot chocolate!” Beth told Newsflare.

Meghan and Harry visited Birkenhead, Merseyside today on their first joint engagement of 2019. The Duchess of Sussex came across a schoolgirl who had missed out on speaking to Harry and escorted her over to her husband to say hello. The couple gave the delighted girl a hug, leaving her in floods of tears.
The newlyweds spent so much time greeting everyone in the waiting crowd that it took 45 minutes for them to walk the 400m to the town hall.

The couple viewed a sculpture marking the 100th anniversary of Wilfred Owen's death, visited an organisation supporting vulnerable women and a centre for young people.
