Footage has emerged of chefs baking, what is reported to be, the world’s largest pumpkin pie in Hunan Province, China.

In the video, captured by a spectator at the event late last month, a team of forty cooks can be seen working with two heavy-duty excavators to create the record-breaking 4 metre wide pie which weighed in at 931.5kg.

The previous world record was a 680kg pumpkin pie measuring 3.75 meters in diameter.

According to organisers, the purpose of this event was to promote sales of pumpkins from local farmers who experienced a bumper harvest this year.
