A Canadian music businessman has rescued HMV from collapse, saving the jobs of almost 1,500 employees.

Sunrise Records boss, Doug Putman, has bought the UK music and film retailer.

File footage shows the HMV store at Oxford Street in London opening the day after the company announced it was in administration for the second time.

Further footage shows few shoppers queuing outside the music retailer store during Black Friday.

HMV collapsed into administration just after Christmas, blaming competition from streaming sites such as Netflix and Spotify.
