'Ooh that stings!' Hordes of jellyfish wash up on Indonesian beach during rainy season

On the coast of East Java, Indonesia, hordes of jellyfish wash up on the beaches during the rainy season in a stinging, gelatinous tide.

Video of the phenomenon, filmed on March 23 near Probolinggo, shows a ship passing through masses of the stinging fish, and later them washing up on shore.

The filmer commented: "Every rainy season, jellyfish will come to the coast of East Java, Probolinggo. because there is a lot of food there.

"Jellyfish will come around between December and April. This type of jellyfish is harmless to humans. but it will itch if touched by the hand.
This jellyfish will disappear and go away by itself if the rainy season has run out."
