This is the terrifying moment a market stall burst into flames after a gas leak went undetected.

Food sellers noticed the strange smell from one of the cooking tanks and one rushed over to try to fix it.

But before he could stem the leak, the gas canister exploded in a ball of flames at the Kingkaew Market in Samut Prakan, central Thailand on March 26.

Miraculously, the man caught up in the explosion escaped unhurt after diving back over one of the tables.

CCTV footage shows how fellow market traders helped to extinguish the flames.

The shop owner told firefighters that the blaze started a minute after he realised that the gas valve was broken. He said: "The gas tank had just been changed and there was still a lot of gas inside, so I never thought that it could be broken."

The man's foot was slightly injured from the fire. He was taken to the hospital after the incident and released a couple of hours later.
