Southern Indian town faces coastal erosion days before Cyclone Fani is due to make landfall

Just a few days few a tropical cyclone is set to make landfall in the southern coast of India, several visuals have emerged of sea erosion in the aforementioned place.

The visuals were captured on Apr 26 in Thiruvananthapuram region of Kerala state.

Footage showed gigantic waves crashing on the shore, inundating the nearby areas.

Reports said the same has destroyed at least 15 houses located along the coast line.

Cyclone Fani is set to make landfall in North Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh by April 30 evening, said the Indian Meteorological Department.

Apart from that, the met department in Kerala has issued yellow alert in several districts of the state.

Locals were seen placing boulders along the shore in a bid to arrest erosion.
