Young girl's wheelchair ice skating in UK

A heartwarming video has emerged of a young girl being taken around an ice rink in her wheelchair in Chester, UK.

The footage, shot by the parents in the time leading up to Christmas, shows Millie Simpson - a three-year-old girl who suffers from a severe form of brittle bone disease - in her wheelchair at the Chester Winter Wonderland.

Members of staff kindly offered to close the ice rink to allow Millie to safely try it out with a trained ice steward who pushed her around in her wheelchair.

"We took our two little girls, our youngest daughter millie suffers from Brittle Bone Disease and it's hard to find things to do with her where she's not at risk of being hurt. Never in a million years did we ever think Millie would be able to go anywhere near an ice rink" the parents later wrote online.

"So when the staff went above and beyond to make our little girl’s Christmas wish come true by closing their small ice rink and taking Millie on in her wheelchair with a trained ice steward, words can't describe how us as parents felt watching her little face light up and for her older sister Lottie to watch her poorly little sister do something we never thought possible, what an experience for us all Millie especially".
