An unusual video has emerged of a dog performing a walking handstand due to apparent reluctance to walk in a pair of shoes.

The video, captured by owner Hannah Boyd at her house in Alberta, Canada, shows 'Iggy' the dog moving forward on his front legs while his booted back feet are raised in the air.

Not surprisingly the unusual walking method causes Iggy to eventually veer off course, nearly hitting a wall.

Writing online about the bizarre behaviour Boyd wrote: "When Iggy has 4 boots on he won't even move, so we decided to see what would happen if we only put two on. This is the result!"
