A dramatic video has emerged of a skier falling over a rock and being airlifted to hospital in Mont Blanc, France.

The footage, shot with a helmet mounted camera earlier this month, shows Jacob Wester going down a slope when he hits a rock and falls in the snow screaming with pain.

Wester is then airlifted to the hospital, camera rolling as he's pulled into the air, where the diagnosis was a broken lateral malleolus of fibula and medial epicondyle of femur.

"First real injury of my 12-year professional skiing career, so I've had a good run" Jacob later wrote online.
