This forest in central Japan looks just like a cat, complete with pointy ears.

Drone footage filmed on July 8 shows the scene, with the forest of trees in Ono City, Fukui Prefecture looking remarkably like the beloved titular character from the 1988 hit animated fantasy movie "My Neighbour Totoro," from the Studio Ghibli stable.

In the movie, the rotund Totoro is a forest spirit and mixture of cat, raccoon and owl with pointy ears.

The forest, known as Yamabushi-Iwa, is made up of chestnut trees, cherry blossom trees and two tall cedars, according to its owner.

In Ono city, Fukui Prefecture, Japan, there is a small forest called ‘Yamabushi-Iwa’ According to the owner of this forest, this is a forest with chestnut trees, cherry blossom trees and 2 tall cedars makes this forest like a cat, or someone calls it Totoro from a famous movie My Neighborhood Totoro from Ghibli.

If you have time, please see this forest from different directions. From right side of the forest, the cat forest looks like ‘rabbit forest’ or ‘marmot forest.’

Ono city is called "Little Kyoto of the Hokuriku Region." There is a town subdivided by waterways and moats still remaining even at present, and a lot of traditional folk houses and traditional Japanese storehouses for heavy snowfall area exist. Also, about 20 temples are lined with on Teramachi Street, and it still has the atmosphere of the flavor of the castle town.
