A British driver has sparked outrage after allegedly blocking a hearse while it was driving to a church.

Norman Cudmore was filmed ranting after he stopped his vehicle in front of the funeral procession in Batangas City, the Philippines, on Sunday (18/08) morning.

He then had an angry confrontation with grieving relatives in which he complained that they were going too slow.

Norman, from Norfolk, is heard in the video telling the locals how to use the road and telling them to "follow the rules of the law."

He adds: ''You were breaking the law by blocking three lanes of traffic out of four."

The family insisted that the cemetery is located on the left side of the highway, which caused the slow traffic when their vehicles had to turn into the entrance.

Outraged relative Glecy Alvarez, the niece of the man being buried, criticised the Brit's behaviour and called for him to be kicked out of the country.

She said: ''This man blocked the hearse while we were going to my uncle's funeral. He doesn't care about tradition or respect for the dead.

"The procession was turning left going to Eternal Gardens, so it is normal for the convoy to block the way going to Batangas. Just have a little respect.

''Let's make everyone see this. His behavior is so bad. I hope that he is deported to the land that he came from.''

Glecy said that Norman had since contacted her on social media after the incident but was ''still arguing'' about the road rage.

Norman said today: ''The only thing I will add is that they blocked three lanes of a four lane highway stopping traffic going to Batangas. I had a person in my vehicle who required urgent medical attention and they were denying me free passage. I did not block them they were blocking me and other road users from going about our rightful business.''
