Teen climate activist Greta Thunberg was joined by enthusiasitc crowds of American teenagers at a protest outside the United Nations headquarters in New York on August 30.

The 16-year-old from Sweden is the youngest individual ever to be named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year.

Greta Thunberg, two days after arriving in New York, participated in a climate strike with a large group of teenagers, children, and activists. They marched from UN plaza to Dag Hammarskold plaza, they shouted chants and held signs. The presence of Thunberg seemed to charge the atmosphere, however she did not say much during the event.
Afterwards Thunberg traveled to the UN across the street to meet the Secretary General, Antonio Guterres.
