Survivors on the hurricane-hit Bahamas have been evacuated as helicopter aid arrived yesterday (September 5).

Footage shows injured residents at Treasure Cay Airport waiting to be evacuated, including an elderly man from Abaco with a leg injury being assisted by volunteers to a plane operated by Bahamas Air.

After hurricane Dorian ravaged the islands of Abaco survivors are waiting to be evacuated to Nassau at the Treasure Cay Airport.

Drone footage also shows damage to properties near the airport.

While flying from Nassau to Treasure Cay Airport in Abaco at 5:30pm on Thur Sept 5th after Hurricane Dorian hit. A very large apparent oil slick was noticed on the water West of Abaco.
