Guatemalan authorities released 21 migrants from Cameroon, who were being held by traffickers in a house in Escuintla.

The video filmed on Wednesday (September 11) shows the migrants from Cameroon sitting lined up against a wall.

Among the migrants are 15 men and 6 women, one of whom is pregnant. The migrants were transferred to the migration department of Guatemala to be repatriated to their country of origin, Cameroon.

The traffickers were not caught and the Guatemalan authorities explained that they believe that the migrants had paid these traffickers to transfer them illegally to the United States.

Autoridades de la Policía Nacional Civil de Guatemala lograron la liberación de 21 migrantes originarios de Camerún, quienes estaban retenidos por traficantes de personas en una vivienda del departamento de Escuintla.

Aunque no se logró la captura de los traficantes, las autoridades señalan que los migrantes tenían como objetivo llegar de forma ilegal a Estados Unidos, por lo que abrían pagado a coyotes para que los trasladaran vía terrestre al país del norte.

Entre los migrantes rescatados se encuentran 15 hombres y seis mujeres, una de estas en estado de gestación. Estas personas fueron trasladadas al departamento de migración de Guatemala para ser repatriados a su país de origen, siendo este Camerún.
