The Mexico Embassy in Ghana launched the Mexico Food Festival as part of activities to mark Mexican Independence Day and Ghana-Mexico relationship. The Ambassador of Mexico to Ghana Her Excellency Maria de Los Angeles Arriola Aguirre, and the
The Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of Mexico, Ambassador Julian Ventura were present.
Mexico was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with Ghana, in 1961. It established an embassy in Accra from 1965 to 1980, which has been reopened since 2014. Ghana on the other hand was the first African country to have an embassy in Mexico, which is now closed.

The Mexican Community in Ghana and other invited guest has been invited to the Mexico Food Festival 4th edition to experience Mexican culture and food at the Labadi beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana. The event held on the 12th September started 7pm.
