This is the bizarre moment an scuba diver lets a shrimp crawl into his mouth - to clean his teeth.

Peter McGuiness and wife Belinda were diving off the coast of Amed in Bali, Indonesia, when they noticed the creatures.

Footage shows their guide resting on the sea bed and opening his mouth wide before the sea spider floats over into his mouth.

The instructor joked that the sea spider - known for removing parasites from other organisms - was ''cleaning his teeth''.
