A homeowner in Sussex Inlet, Australia fed a kangaroo and its joey, who were waiting in his garden, a tray full of bird seed.

The filmer spots the hungry kangaroo peering in through the house's glass backdoor before he goes out into the garden and places the food further away from the house.

They told Newsflare: "[My] first reaction [was] 'OMG how cute is that? She's lined up at the drive-in window waiting for takeaways'. [My] second reaction [was] 'I'm so glad there's another door onto the deck, I'm not walking out this one'.

"I don't feed the kangaroos. They just help themselves to leftover bird seed. There are no cats around here so you don't need raised feeders and water sources for the birds.

"That wasn't the first time she was on the deck. I walked out without turning on the light a couple of nights before and nearly walked into her. That was scary."
